Peter Pirsch & Company of Kenosha, Wisconsin mainly used commercial chassis to build the fire apparatus on in there early days. In this case they used a 1929 Chevy Truck Chassis and outfitted with a 250-GPM-fount mount Barton Pump. The engine was built for Sheridan Rural Fire Department (Michigan). When the engine was surplused in 1968, the Davis Funeral purchased for local parades. The Marhanka Truck and Tractor Collection of Dowagiac, MI acquired the rig in 1971.
When Mr. Marhanka passed away, the entire collection was auctioned off in 1991. This truck along with several others were purchased and loaded on tractor-trailers for the trip to Tacoma. Over the next 2 years a complete ground-up restoration was completed. All work was done in our shops except the chrome and machining of the engine.
